Heidi has always had a wonderfully imaginative mind. While gardening, she often entertains herself by dreaming up funny conversations and adventures about animals, nature, and even diggers that move into her neighbourhood! For Heidi, anything can come to life with a little imagination. When she’s not writing, she spends time with her hubby, her dog, and other people’s animals; potters in the garden; and enjoys boxing, cycling, and creating art—especially fun pieces she can hide in her garden for local kids to enjoy.

This is a rhyming, picture book capturing the adventure of a neighbour’s house being devoured by a hungry digger. It is inspired by a true story in the beach town of Magical Mangawhai, New Zealand, where diggers often roam and occasionally eat houses. Just the older houses….usually.

While some diggers gobble homes quickly, this digger took his time, savouring his delicious feast. 18mo – 6 year olds will love the colourful pictures, while the reader will enjoying the gripping adventure.
